Treats for Tots

25 Feb

This morning I made a big batch of yogurt covered treats  for Adrian. He’s been teething and recently just got his second tooth. The poor stinker is miserable,  but these (and Tylenol) take his mind of things for a bit :).

Yogurt covered Cheerios to start! I used Organic Strawberry/Banana Yogurt.

Cheerios and Yogurt Just lay your Cheerios or fruit down on a parchment paper lined pan and cover them with your yogurt!

I mix them up really good so they are covered on all sides. Then just pop them in the freezer for about 20 minutes so they set up.

Yogurt covered cheeriosHe loves em!

I make him bananas too…

Yogurt covered bananasI let the bananas get a little soft before I give them to him (I’m one of those “Paranoid of choking babies” people) but they’re still nice and cold.

Bananas and cheeriosIt’s such an easy and healthy snack for the little ones! Not to mention fun to eat cause they’re cold.

I have tried making the yogurt at home using the store bought commercial yogurt, 125ml of commercial store bought yogurt mix with 1 litre of milk makes about 1 litre++ yogurt. However the taste started to change when it goes to the fifth batch so I start all over again using new commercial yogurt.
It saves money but still the taste change unless we use heirloom yogurt culture.
